Roundhay Garden Scene is the title of an 1888 short film directed by
French inventor Louis Le Prince. The 2 second long film was recorded with the Le Prince single-lens camera
at 12 frames per second and is the earliest surviving film. It was taken in the garden
of the Whitley family house in Oakwood Grange Road, Roundhay, a suburb of Leeds, Yorkshire,
Great Britain, possibly on October 14, 1888.
